IRCCS San Donato Research Hospital Polyclinic (PSD)

The San Donato Research Hospital Polyclinic is a general hospital that offers the full gamut of clinical specialisations. PSD is one of the most renowned medical structures in Italy for the treatment of cardiovascular disease and was named as the top hospital for the number of cardiac surgeries performed per annum (over 1,500). More than 100 professionals are dedicated to the scientific research. Every year, the San Donato Research Hospital Polyclinic assists over 1,000 paediatric patients, from the first days of life through to adulthood. PSD is one of the most specialised centres in Europe in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease, with the most advanced techniques in cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology.

IRCCS San Raffaele Research Hospital (HSR)

The medical and scientific excellence of the San Raffaele Research Hospital stems from the distinctive three-pronged approach adopted by the institute: research, clinical and academic training. From surgical robots to precision imaging and radiotherapy tools the San Raffaele Research Hospital offers cutting-edge technology that permits an early diagnosis, personalised treatment and preventative medicine. San Raffaele Research Hospital has the skill set to treat disease in all of its facets thanks to the presence of specialists who combine their skills and deploy them at the service of the patient.

IRCCS Galeazzi Sant'Ambrogio Hospital

The Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio Research Hospital is the new flagship hospital of Gruppo San Donato and ranked top in Italy, carrying out 4000 hip and knee prosthetic surgeries per annum as well as exceptional cardiovascular-related treatments. It is also top of its category for treating hip fractures within 48 hours of admission. The Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio Research Hospital is the reference centre research and treatment of locomotor system disease. A leader in Italy for vertebral surgery, the hospital boasts 1,400 complex surgery operations per annum for congenital, degenerative and oncological pathologies of the spine and for vertebral surgery for deformities. The centre is committed to the management of trauma and sports injuries through the use of regenerative medicine and therapies which promote the restoration of the affected tissue.

GKSD's European Cardiovascular Hub in Poland

Another important milestone in the growth path of GSD and GKSD, was the acquisition of a majority stake in American Heart of Poland, the largest independent cardiovascular care provider in Europe and one of the three largest private healthcare providers in Poland.

In addition to caring for 78% of the population outside metropolitan centres, AHP also boasts the largest medical rehabilitation/spa complex.

As such, this is a unique acquisition that represented one of the most significant moments since GSD was founded in 1957, and marks a further step in our ongoing efforts to promote wellness globally. This collaboration also broadens our international reach, by bringing to life the cosmopolitan vision of GKSD Healthcare, whose aim is to engage an even wider community.

Poland Hospital.

A pan-European Platform for the Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases

With the American Heart of Poland, GSD now has a pan-European hub for the treatment of lifestyle diseases and cardiovascular conditions, which will help improve the quality of healthcare across Europe. 

This new platform comprises 77 facilities in Poland, 3 multidisciplinary hospitals, 48 wards and cardiac cath labs, 22 outpatient clinics and 4 rehabilitation centres. This is a significant step forward in GSD's mission to promote health and well-being through state-of-the-art medical services.

The American Heart of Poland Group specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of lifestyle-related diseases, caring for approximately 220,000 patients annually, with over 50,000 hospitalisations per year.

The synergy between the two groups will help to diffuse their respective strengths in terms of business model expansion, research and development, and healthcare training, while remaining focused on improving healthcare provision for those who need it most.
