The Chairman of GKSD and Gruppo San Donato, Kamel Ghribi, was bestowed with the Dea Roma Special Achievement Award in Healthcare Innovation, Research and Management during the recently held 50th anniversary gala of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF).
He was awarded alongside other distinguished personalities and high achievers during a lavish black tie event held at the Washington Hilton. More than 2500 guests witnessed the occasion, according to a statement made available by NIAF.

Gruppo San Donato, an integrated healthcare provider, owns a network of hospitals and medical centres across Italy and elsewhere. It is one of the largest healthcare groups in Italy and has contributed immensely towards the research and development of the healthcare sector. Hence, the honour that was bestowed on Mr Ghribi.

The gala celebrated 50 years of strengthening Italian-American relations and shared values, as well as promoting Italian heritage.
Meanwhile, in a somewhat related development, GKSD Investment Holdings and the Government of Gabon have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on health, infrastructure, and sustainable development. The MoU was signed by Kamel Ghribi and the Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Régis Onanga Ndiaye, in the presence of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
A statement made available following the MoU signing noted that the historic agreement has laid the foundation for a shared vision for progress, strengthening collaboration in healthcare, education, infrastructure, energy and social housing sectors.
Part of the goal is to construct a modular and sustainable hospital in Gabon as well as renewable energy initiatives and telemedicine projects. But beyond the physical projects, the plan also entails investing in Gabonese doctors and nurses through training.
Within 30 days, a task force will be established to fully define the implementation strategies for each of the earmarked projects. The MoU has an initial duration of three months and is subject to renewable.
