The Benghazi Medical Center, built in the 1970s, remains one of the country’s main general hospitals, with a capacity of approximately 1,200 beds and considerable architectural value. The complex is organised around a single-story horizontal structure from which three eight-story volumes rise, interconnected at the main entrance.
Revamping of Interior SpacesThe redevelopment of the interior spaces includes the renovation of common areas, the kitchen, and selected clinical departments through an intervention focused on improving spatial quality, functionality, and the overall user experience.
At the same time, the project includes the modernization of the building’s mechanical, electrical, and medical gas systems, together with the renewal of the main distribution networks.
The intervention ultimately gives Benghazi Medical Centre a renewed identity: a contemporary hospital that combines architectural heritage, technological innovation, and spatial quality, positioning itself as a strategic reference point for the future of healthcare in Libya.
